1/2 bushel of apples, Jonathan works best, peeled and sliced
2 cups apple cider (or water if cider is not available)
2 lb. of sugar (or to taste)
3-4 Tbs. of Cinnamon (or to taste)
Directions:
Put apples in a large cooking pot
Add the apple cider, start on high heat
Cook slowly over medium heat with the lid tipped to let steam escape
Stir frequently
Add sugar and cinnamon
Cook until apples are soft and mixed well but still chunky
