Fresh Apple Cake

Servings: Ingredients:
Cake:
1 cup cooking oil
2 cups sugar
3 cups chopped fresh apples
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/4 cup self rising flour
3 eggs
1 tsp. apple pie spice
1 cup raisins (optional)
1 cup broken pecans (optional)
Sauce:
1/4 stick margarine
1/2 cup milk
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
Directions:
  • Cake:
  • Combine oil, sugar, and eggs
  • Beat well
  • Add flour and beat thoroughly
  • Add remaining ingredients and stir to blend
  • Bake in a greased and floured loop or tube pan at 350 degrees for 50 minutes to 1 hour
  • Sauce for Cake:
  • Mix in sauce pan
  • Bring to boil and boil for two minutes
  • Pour over cake (punch holes in cake before adding sauce)
